Staff are celebrating this week after four of our stylists were named as North West finalists in one of the UK’s most prestigious hairdressing competitions.
The L’Oréal Colour Trophy is the longest running hairdressing competition in the world and each year attracts entries from more than 5,000 professional stylists from across the UK and Ireland.
The competition takes place across nine regional heats and has four categories: Star Award, Men’s Image Award, Afro Look Award and Colour Trophy Award.
This year the North West final will see hairdressers and colouring specialists battle it out against each other at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on April 10th. Their work will then be judged by some of the industry’s biggest names with the winners then moving on to compete in the UK final.
From L20 The Salon, L’Oréal Colour Specialist Danielle Shaw and previous Colour L’Oréal Colour Trophy People’s Choice award winner David Halsall have won their way through in the Colour Trophy Award category. Fellow L20 The Salon stylists Rebecca Rees-Cormack and Jade Carthy, who is former finalist in the Young Colourist category, will compete in the Men’s Image Award.
Danielle Shaw, who is also the L20 The Salon Manager, said:
“Since L20 The Salon was opened at Hugh Baird College in 2013, the salon has grown its reputation and client base through the hard work of the talented stylists we have here, social media and customer recommendations.”
“This news reinforces our place as one of the region’s up and coming salons. The staff here are exceptionally passionate about their work and I am delighted that their enthusiasm and skill has been recognised by such a prestigious competition as the L’Oréal Colour Trophy.”
“Liverpool has long had a reputation for style and fashion and we are delighted to see that there will also be other talented stylists from across the city region in the North West final. We wish them the best of luck.”
